Leks&Co delivers a comprehensive suite of legal services in the banking and finance sector, advising a wide range of clients including financial institutions, corporate borrowers, and multinational companies. We understand that financial transactions require precision, regulatory compliance, and strategic foresight. With this in mind, our firm offers tailored legal solutions that are commercially sound and aligned with each client’s objectives.

Our banking and finance practice covers the full lifecycle of financing transactions. We regularly assist clients in the structuring, drafting, and reviewing of various financial arrangements, including loan agreements, credit facilities, syndicated loans, project financing, and other structured finance instruments. Our expertise extends to advising on regulatory frameworks, ensuring that all transactions comply with the applicable laws and standards set by Indonesia’s financial authorities, including Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

We also provide legal opinions on diverse financing scenarios, such as cross-border lending, debt restructuring, and capital market transactions. One of our core strengths lies in advising on the creation, perfection, and enforcement of security instruments, including mortgages, pledges, fiduciary transfers (fiducia), bank guarantees, bonds, and other collateral structures. These services are crucial in mitigating credit risks and ensuring lender protections in both conventional and complex transactions.

Our team has advised numerous clients on high-value and technically complex financing matters. For example, we provided legal opinion to First Commercial Bank, Ltd. (Jakarta Representative Office) regarding overseas debt and mortgage security under Indonesian law. We also assisted PT Hexindo Adiperkasa Tbk—a prominent company in the heavy equipment industry—in preparing a legal opinion related to fiduciary guarantee engagement, helping the client remain compliant with fiduciary security requirements applicable to their financing model.

In support of our advisory services, we maintain a strong grasp of Indonesia’s financial regulatory landscape and frequently publish insights on key developments. Our commentary includes interpretations of Law No. 21 of 2011 on the Financial Services Authority, the Mandatory Use of Rupiah policy under Bank Indonesia Circular No. 17/11/DKSP, and regulations governing the use of Indonesian Rupiah in domestic financial transactions.

At Leks&Co, we are committed to delivering clear, pragmatic, and results-oriented legal support that empowers clients to conduct secure and compliant banking and financing transactions across sectors and jurisdictions.
