Indonesian firm Leks & Co has a specialised focus on the real estate and property sector within its corporate and commercial practices. The core team comprises of managing partner Eddy Leks and partner Ivor Pasaribu. Acting on a $30 million M&A deal for client, Tokyu Land Indonesia, the firm has been retained to draft the preliminary, and conditional sale and purchase agreements in order for the client to acquire land located in Cilandak in South Jakarta. The firm was also involved in another acquisition of land deal that was strategically located in Sudirman in South Jakarta for Cahava Globalindo Mulia, which is part of the Provident Development Group. The complication with this deal is that it involved inherited land, which has been occupied by a third party. This brought along issues of illegal occupation, change of use of land, and change of land with the local government of DKI Jakarta.
