Leks&Co provides a range of corporate and commercial services, with a specialised focus on the real estate and property sector.
Founder and managing partner Eddy Leks previously practised at Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners before joining prominent property and real estate company Lippo Karawaci, where he was legal senior manager. Leks has been engaged by Lippo Karawaci on a retainer basis to assist the company in its property development projects.
Highlighting his experience acting for overseas investors, Leks recently assisted China Harbour Indonesia, a subsidiary of China Harbour Engineering, on legal due diligence work in relation to their intention to purchase land in Jakarta. He also assisted Jangkar Prima, part of India’s Baja Group, in relation to various matters, including applications for corporate and mining licenses to the Capital Investment Supervisory Board.
Other recent clients include National Oilwell Varco, part of an American multinational corporation which provides equipment and components used in the oil and gas industry, and China’s Jiangsu Zhonglian Aluminium Co, for which the firm acted on separate Indonesian acquisition matters, performing legal due diligence in relation to the proposed acquisitions.
In 2013, Leks acted for Pacific Indopalm Industries, part of Indomas Group, in the District Court of Dumai, successfully representing the company as defendant on a civil claim relating to disputed land. Ivan Ari is another key partner of the firm, whose work encompasses construction and real estate, dispute resolution and labour and employment issues.
