In his session titled “Comparing Rules: APIAC and BANI and Its Modern Features,” Dr. Eddy unveiled critical breakthroughs in Indonesia’s arbitration framework. He highlighted the innovative, streamlined, and future-ready procedures introduced under the APIAC Indonesia Arbitration Rules, ranging from consolidation mechanisms and concurrent proceedings to expedited processes and emergency arbitration.
Dr. Eddy also examined recent case law developments, particularly decisions addressing conflicts of interest, arbitrator challenges, and the judiciary’s approach to independence and impartiality, emphasizing the continuing need for transparency and ethical safeguards in arbitration practice. He also shed light on influential court decisions shaping arbitrator independence and conflicts of interest, revealing how these rulings are driving greater transparency, integrity, and trust in Indonesia’s dispute resolution landscape.
His participation reinforced his ongoing commitment to advancing arbitration practice in Indonesia and contributing to the development of a more robust, transparent, and internationally competitive dispute resolution ecosystem.
